Everyone loves using their mobile devices now – the 3.3 billion smartphone users globally certainly backs this up! From calling friends to catching up on emails or surfing the web, our mobile devices have become indispensable to our lives now. A big reason for this is the many amazing mobile apps we can download to make our lives easier or simply have fun with. But which ones were a big hit during 2019?

Currencies Direct app

Money management is one of the key things in most people’s lives. This not only concerns budgeting and banking but also how to make money transfers internationally when required. You may for example have a friend who has moved abroad and you want to send them money for their birthday. This is just one example of where being able to make payments like this and manage your money is essential.

One of the best apps from 2019 in this field came from the international money transfer provider Currencies Direct – read their review here for more details. Not only was it highly rated by users for being simple to navigate and operate but it was also ultra-responsive. Free to download on both iOS and Android phones, it contains all the handy features the main Currencies Direct site does.

Twitter

When it comes to social media apps in 2019, the list of the best includes the usual suspects. While both Facebook and Instagram are popular and recommended, Twitter is our top pick. The app itself is available on both Android and iOS and is simple to download. The layout is clean and makes it straightforward to tell the whole world about your breaking news. Of course, as with the main Twitter site, the mobile app makes it easy to catch up on the latest gossip or tweet friends from wherever you are.

Call of Duty mobile app

Many people will have downloaded an app last year to simply have fun with when bored. Mobile games are a massive part of the landscape now and this cracker went down a treat with many people. While it was naturally a different beast to the console version, it had a real charm of its own on both iOS and Android devices. The gameplay was engaging and the touchscreen controls fine once you got used to them.

Jumbo

We all know how important protecting our online privacy is which is what made the Jumbo app such a winner in 2019. Free to download for iOS and Android devices, it gave users the tools to take back control of their online security. This app cleverly connects to your online accounts and tells you which  are sucking up all your data. In addition, it will also warn you of data breaches in regards to your accounts at sites like Facebook or Google.

2019 was a great year for apps

Looking back on it now, it was clear that there were some great apps to download for users in 2019. Whether it was money management, social media or games, there were plenty of new and old ones to get involved with. As 2020 begins to get going, it will be interesting to see which apps are most popular come 2021.
